Change is good.
It is, in fact, the only thing constant in life. Closing the page on one chapter means starting a brand new page of another. New beginnings mean fresh starts, a blank canvas to paint the masterpiece of your choosing. The ending of a major part of life can bring a certain level of sadness. Something is over, it is done, finished, accomplished but it brought with it life lessons that could not be learned any other way. The road you are on is distinctively yours, the turns you take are up to you. Sometimes there are unexpected detours, but it is how you handle this that determines your ride. Will you stick your head out the window and enjoy the view or will you only focus on arriving and miss the epic journey? Imagine being on road that never changed? No matter how long you drove, everything remained the same. It would be safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless. Change is good, it is important, and it is what propels life forward.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank all of my loyal reader of The Traveling Waitress for not only following her on her journey but cheering her on every step of the way. Your love, encouragement, and support, was the light that kept me going. After twenty years in the restaurant industry, I am hanging up my apron. I am taking a turn and going off roading where there is no path to create my own. I am not following a compass or a map, but my heart. Fueled by passion and determination, I am going to chase my dreams. This road is a lot more uncertain, but it is all mine. I invite you to join me on this new adventure where I hope to inspire people to love life, drink wine and chase the sunshine.
