Cheers To: Third Generation Chardonnay

Name of Wine: Nugan Estate Third Generation Chardonnay

Winery Location:  Griffith, New South Wales, Australia

Type of Wine: Chardonnay (White)

How it Tastes: This wine is AMAZING value. You don’t find many chardonnay’s in this price range with this bold a flavor. Savory and smokey, like when you smoke something with wood chips, but the flavor is very subtle. You don’t don’t notice it at first and then it hits you like a perfect surprise that leaves you longing for the next sip. It does not leave a strong aftertaste and is not overpowering at all. It is best served chilled, but does not have to be super cold to be it’s best.

Interesting Fact: Like the name suggests, the winery is owned and operated by the Nugan family, now in it’s third generation of operation. The company originally started in 1940 as a fruit & vegetable packing business. Michelle Nugan is a rock star business chick. When her husband passed away in 1986, she took a then struggling business and turned it into a grand success, earning her business awards and recognition nationally. (Love a kick butt powerhouse female success story! Cheers to you Michelle!)

Pairs Best With: Your favourite nature hike. Reward yourself at the end of your outdoor journey with a glass of this amazing wine. Sit and enjoy the tranquility and beauty of nature, take a deep breath and appreciate being in the moment. Keep your wine chilled by sitting yourself near a stream and plunge the bottle in. Cheers Mother Nature for her brilliance in creating a natural cooler, she is wine lover too!
